Codes, Secrets, & Spies

Participants will focus on actual WWII spies and their tactics, as well as tools that help us understand the secret world of spies, codes, and intelligence agencies that were used to carry out top-secret missions leading to victory.

Operation Homefront

Participants will have the opportunity to explore how life dramatically changed for US civilians on the Home Front during WWII.

Military Mapping

Participants will learn about cartography, the Army Map Service, and the 3M girls during WWII. Learn more about the women in Cartography.

Operation Carpetbagger

Participants will learn about the secret mission that dropped spies and supplies to the resistance during WWII.

Ohio In Flight

Participants will learn about the significance Ohio played in aviation history with potential guest speaker Don Gray.

Operation Footlocker

Participants will have the opportunity to gain a richer appreciation of WWII military life by exploring the military artifacts inside the footlocker.

Righting A Wrong

Participants will examine the complicated history of the relocation of Japanese Americans during WWII. Students will be able to experience hands-on a typical home in a Japanese internment camp.

Black & White Airman

Participants will learn about the true story of John Leahr and Herb Heilbrun.  Students will explore the role of these local WWII servicemen and how the Tuskegee Airmen rose above the adversity of the times.

A WWII Christmas

Participants will learn about Christmas and how it was celebrated by civilians and soldiers during wartime.

Planes & Pilots

Participants will receive a guided museum tour and will have the opportunity to examine planes, learn about the fabric restoration process, and explore the contribution of local WWII veterans.

Doolittle Raiders

Participants will learn about Lt. Col. Doolittle and how he lead the first attack on Japan using B-25s.

The Smith Family In WWII

Participants will learn about one tri-state area family and their involved in WWII. Participants will gain a richer and more personal appreciation of the war and what life was like for those on the Home Front.

Veterans Of TSWM

Participants will learn about local WWII veterans and their contributions that they made during WWII.  

Valentine, Be Mine

Participants will learn all about sweetheart pillows; their significance to WWII servicemen and their contribution to the morale on the Home Front. 

We Can Do It: The Women Of WWII

Participants will learn how amazing things were accomplished during WWII due to women stepping up in the workplace and at home!

100th Bombardment Group: The Bloody 100th

Participants will learn about the story of the Bloody 100th Bombardment Group.  

Salvage For Victory

Participants will learn all about the campaign that asked all Americans to do their part in supporting the WWII war effort by collecting, saving, conserving, and recycling materials that could be used for the military.
